COMEDY AT THE CON CLUB

with Dave Fulton, Andrew Lawrence and M/C Dave Mounfield

Happy New Year! And to celebrate our 7th birthday, we have booked two of the most uncompromising, outspoken, outrageous and hysterical comics on the scene today, pissed off American DAVE FULTON and annoyed Englishman and BBC Radio 4 star ANDREW LAWRENCE. Its a DOUBLE HEADLINER people! PLUS! two other of the best up and coming comics on the circuit (see social media for details nearer the time) and cherubic Dave Mounfield on MC duties. Kick the year off with a laugh!

DAVE FULTON - In his own words "started comedy back when it was popular and profitable. Decided to stay on past the point of when it wasn't. It's the desire to say something original combined with the fear of a civilian day job that perpetuates the illusion of forward progress. The trick is to find the balance point between any financial burdens incurred and the even weightier responsibility of originality. It appears the placement of this fulcrum has come to be the most important decision.

"-It's only comics with something to say that cross the Atlantic." The Guardian
"Fulton is left as a sole crusader for US topical comedy."  The List
"(Fulton) represents the tough talking, risk-taking school of yankee comics,........He's intelligent, remarkably relaxed on stage and clearly out to create a bit of mischief."  Time Out-London
"...Fulton puts it out there. It's your job to pick it up. And if you are a smart man, you will."  The Seattle Times
"...Could be cast as the evil cast away in the satanic remake of The Blue Lagoon."  San Fransisco Examiner

ANDREW LAWRENCE  has featured in numerous radio and TV shows, mostly as a stand-up performer. He has also appeared on television as a comic actor, playing the builder Marco in the bbc TV sitcom Ideal. He has written and performed four series for BBC Radio 4, most recently the 2015 sitcom There Is No Escape. Lawrence's university debut led on to the Edinburgh Fringe, where he was runner up in the 2003 So You Think You're Funny competition.[3] Subsequently, he won the Amused Moose Starsearch, York Comedy Festival New Act of the Year Competition and the BBC's New Act of the Year Competition in 2004. He presented his first hour-long comedy show at the 2006 Edinburgh Festival Fringe entitled How to Butcher your Loved Ones. It was nominated for the if.comeddie award (as it was known for that year only) for Best Newcomer. His 2007 Fringe show, Social Leprosy For Beginners & Improvers, was nominated for the main if.comedy award.[4] He has returned to the Fringe every year up to 2015. As well as touring shows in the UK, Lawrence has performed abroad at the Just For Laughs Montreal Festival Showcase[5] and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
