We’re so pleased to welcome legendary songwriter Boo Hewerdine to our February Hilltop Session. Known as lead singer of The Bible and writer whose songs have been covered by artists including KD Lang and Chris Difford. Boo will be supported by Hilltop Session’s very own Maia Eden.

Boo Hewerdine
For over 30 years Boo Hewerdine has been considered one of the UK’s finest singer-songwriters. As lead singer of seminal band, The Bible through to his subsequent solo work and long-time collaboration with the incredible Eddi Reader he has become something of a national treasure. He is in demand as a writer, producer and performer. Over a hundred of his songs have been covered by the likes of KD Lang, Kris Drever, Chris Difford, Heidi Talbot and Hannah Rarity. His last album ‘Before’ was recorded with supreme Danish multi- instrumentalist Gustaf Ljunggren. It garnered multiple five star reviews.
Since then he has released a lockdown EP, Singularities and a new album on Reveal Records.
Expect a great show filled with humanity and humou which includes songs from his new album and his extraordinary back catalogue. A naturally gifted raconteur, Boo’ gigs are always a total joy.
Maia Eden
Ever since she was a young lass growing up in the Scottish highlands, music has been Maia’s love and refuge. Her unique voice was first evident in Carnoustie’s church choir and she has been singing and making music ever since, as a session singer, as part of various bands – In Bob We Trust & Edenwood – and now as a solo performer. Her personal lyrics about life and love bring Jackson Browne to mind, while her unique voice is reminiscent of Natalie Merchant and K.D. Lang. Maia will be bringing song from her forthcoming album to the Hilltop Sessions stage in additoin to tracks from her debut EP, New Horizons. Maia, who is also a co-fonder of Hilltop Sessions, met Boo at a songwriting retreat in the Scottish Highlands where they performed together.
