All hail the return of AK/DK for a one off gig in Lewes, the duo create improvised layers of fuzzed-up synths, delays and thunderous double drums. Their album ‘Patterns/Harmonics’ was lauded by BBC 6 Music and received an ‘Album of the Day’ accolade after heavy rotation from the station. Known for their high-energy and structural abandon as a live act, their stream of largely improvised layers of fizzing arpeggios and crushing motorik drums has earned them places on stages and at festivals all around the UK, Europe and South America. They’ve performed at Bluedot, Deer Shed, Manchester Psych, Latitude, End of The Road, ArcTanGent and Green Man, and have toured with Dan Deacon, The Dandy Warhols, Fujiya & Miyagi and Zombie Zombie.
“A joyful storm of synth loops, beats and beeps – AK/DK play with passion, inventiveness and smiles plastered over their faces” – Drowned In Sound
The Pink Diamond Review ~ Curious drum beats, psych-syncopations’ that mesmerise, slow lobotomies, cauterizing with a 1950s’ undertow of rock ‘n’ roll guitar riffs. It’s a strange mix of Talking Heads, David Byrne, Mick Green guitar, with an angular, Bowie androgynous imagery. ‘Tis a great live show, mixing some superb film imagery projections.
Automouse ~ Future Cyclopean rave ups. All hardware improvised tech, with swamps of distortion and really filthy beats.
